Maintaining and inspecting the smoke/fire dampers in your medical
facility is required by the following:
- NFPA 90A section 5.4.,7 and NFPA 101
- The Joint Commission Hospital Accreditation Standards Elements of Performance EC.5.40 section 14, which requires healthcare facilities to have their fire and smoke dampers inspected every four years.
