Smoke & Fire Dampers
Maintaining and inspecting the smoke/fire dampers in your medical facility is required by the following:
- NFPA 80 section 19.4, NFPA 105 Section 6.5, NFPA 90A Section 5.4.7 and The Joint Commission.
- The code requires that each damper shall be tested and inspected:
- One year after installation
- Every 4 years, except in hospitals where the frequency shall be every 6 years
